Discussion Summary and Next Steps

NISE emphasized its long-term vision to develop human resources and ensure inclusive education for individuals with disabilities. The meeting addressed challenges in special education, including the need for expanded teacher training, mentorship programs, and integrating inclusive education principles into certification programs.

Hiroshima University is committed to supporting NISE through specialized training programs in special and inclusive education, the development of adapted curricula and teaching materials, and joint research to inform inclusive education policies. The collaboration also includes support for Braille and sign language development, as well as the exchange of teachers and researchers to strengthen academic and practical cooperation. This initiative marks a significant step in strengthening special education in Cambodia through international collaboration, ensuring that educators receive the necessary skills and resources to promote inclusive learning environments.
